Dance
Some people dance to express themselves. Some people dance just for fun, or to get fit. Some people dance even to celebrate. I only dance to have fun, or with my friends. I have always wanted to take dance classes. When I see someone on stage dancing, who is really good, I wonder how long it took them to become that good, and I also wonder why they are dancing themselves. I think the thing that makes dance good is passion. In order for dance to be entertaining, the dancer has to be really pulled into what he or she is dancing for. If the dancer isn't into what they are doing, then the dance is just boring.

Assignment #4
Architechture
At the top of the Horseshoe is the McKissick Museum. This structure has several of the elements discussed in class. Noticeably are the six columns at the front of the building. These columns could be categorized as ionic columns because of the scroll top, but the plain base could also classify them as donic columns. Also, the McKissick Museum has a dome placed at the top of the structure. I didn't notice the dome at first, but the sculpture at the top brought my eye to it. The building also has symmetry.

Assignment #3
Artwork Criticism
When walking into the McMaster Art Gallery, I felt that all the works of art were dealing with the emotions of the artist themselves. All of the art works were expressing a certain emotion. The art curator probably wanted the viewer to notice how each piece of art represented a different emotion.
The artwork I chose was Zach Mory's "Boxes". Its medium is pencil on paper. It was not specifically stated how large the painting was, but I would say it was about 2.5 feet x 2.5 feet. The piece of art uses lines to create boxes that steadily disperse to the top right corner of the drawing.
The drawing uses lines and shading to emphasize the gradual separation of the boxes. The use of black, white, and grey let the view focus more on the simplicity of the art, which allows more focus on the separation. The mood created by this artwork would be one of sadness because of the separation happening in the drawing.
I feel that this artwork has to deal with a separation that the artist once went though. The boxes start out close knit and together, but when the eye travels towards the top right, the boxes seem to be dispersing further away from each other. This gives me a feeling of remorse for the artist because I would want to know what the separation was about. This drawing could possibly have an underlying meaning of separation from society.
I like this drawing because of the use of geometric patterns and the absent use of color. It also has simplicity which I find to be very appealing.

Assignment #2
I think that aesthetics is the study of beauty and deciding if things are tasteful or not.
The four domains of creativity are fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Fluency is thinking of many ideas. Flexibility is taking the same idea and thinking of it in a different perspective. Originality is thinking of a different idea. Elaboration is adding onto ideas to improve them.
My practical experience: I put on my make-up.
My aesthetic experience: As I sit down at my desk to apply my make-up I feel like an artist that is about to start painting a magnificent work of art. I apply my foundation which fixes any slight imperfection, like the artist's first layer of paint. Then, I mix the powders together to form the perfect shade such as an artist mixes his paints to find the best shade for his landscape. Applying eyeliner, eyeshadow, and mascara is like applying the finishing details to the already beautiful piece of artwork. And voila, my masterpiece is complete.
