Architechture
At the top of the Horseshoe is the McKissick Museum. This structure has several of the elements discussed in class. Noticeably are the six columns at the front of the building. These columns could be categorized as ionic columns because of the scroll top, but the plain base could also classify them as donic columns. Also, the McKissick Museum has a dome placed at the top of the structure. I didn't notice the dome at first, but the sculpture at the top brought my eye to it. The building also has symmetry.
Movies I went to the Nickelodeon Theater and saw I Am Love. The movie was in Italian and was about the Ricchi family who's grandfather dies and leaves the father and son with the textile mill. Meanwhile, the mother, Emma, has a love affair with her son's friend Antonio, both of whom love to cook. The son finds out that his mother has shared his secret recipe with Antonio, and storms out of a party they were throwing. He tragically hits his head while in a rage, and suffers brain damage. After the funeral, Emma's husband finds out about her love affair and orders her to leave the house. This film uses music as a big part of showing emotion. For intense parts, the music would speed up, and for mournful parts, the music would be very calm. The most meaningful part where music was used to elaborate the emotion was at the end where Emma was storming through the house getting her things together to leave. Many characters' emotions were running high at this point and the music emphazised them to their highest extent.
